This special issue of Girl Reports, published on International Women’s Day, details the lives of the members of the journalism club at KGS. Unlike past issues, this edition was produced thanks to a group of service-learning volunteers from Eckerd College (a small liberal arts school in St. Petersburg, Florida). Thanks to them, readers have the opportunity to see how the KGS girls impact others. You will also find updates on daily life at school, life in Nepal, and important holidays and festivals. We hope you enjoy!

In this issue, you will find articles on the daily lives of Nepalese girls and women. From what’s happening at their school to what is happening in their homes and Community, you will get unique insight to the challenges they face, the joys they share through festivals and food, and the changes they hope to see in their society.

This issue of Girl Reports includes articles on the travels of the KGS students, and their favorite games, people, and holidays. They candidly discuss tourism in Lumbini and what it’s like to be a woman in Nepal. This edition also introduces some new young women to the team as the KGS journalism club grows.

In this issue of Girl Reports you will find out more about the lives of young Nepalese women, including the holidays they celebrate, the people who inspire them, and the challenges they face daily. The articles featured range from fun and games to constructive advice on how to alleviate the suffering of women in Nepal.

This issue of Girl Reports has a special focus on getting to know more about where our authors attend school in Lumbini, Nepal. You will find articles on the classes offered at KGS, the students favorite subjects, and interviews with teachers. Also included is information about snake bites, child labor, and a traditional Nepali festival celebrated by women every year.

In this issue you will find articles exploring the lives of girls who participate in the journalism club at KGS. We begin with an update on KGS, showcasing our new Vice Principle and the official top ten students of the 2015-2016 school year. Then, our journalists provide us with some tips to beat the heat, a how-to on paddy planting, and an exploration of overpopulation. You will also find jokes, games, poetry, tips on toilet management, and a showcase of Dr. Arlene Blum to finish off our second edition on an inspiring note.

In this issue you will find articles focused on the physical and mental health of young Nepalese men and women. These range from the impacts of deforestation on Nepal as a whole, to critiques on child marriage, violence against women, and the importance of efforts to establish a hospital in Lumbini. Also included is student art and an introduction to the founding members of the Journalism Club at Karuna Girls School (KGS), who produced this first-ever installment of Girl Reports.
